A Little Bit of History...
The History of Polo
Polo is an ancient-old game. Its origin dates back to old-time Persia. Experts have found out that the game used to be played long ago, with slight differences, in the kingdom of Dario I, back in the 5th Century A.D. In the centuries that followed the game extended into Constantinople, Turkestan, Tibet, China, and Japan. It was later played in India, during the Mongol rule, from early 16th Century to middle 18th Century.
It was during this period that the English colonizers claimed Polo as their sport. They adapted it, developed set of rules, and established the first clubs. In 1860, Polo had finally made its way to Britain, and became a part of life for all Brits. From England, the game spread all over Europe and the world, becoming a very popular sport indeed.
